The conversion process will begin in the second quarter, said Marriott, and a reopening is expected to occur in the first quarter of 2025.
Once reborn as the Marriott Miches Beach, the 62-acre property will have 498 guestrooms, each with a balcony or terrace. The resort also will offer swim-up accommodations.
Guests will have access to six restaurants, several bars and three “pop-up venues” as well as multiple pools, a spa, a gym, a discotheque, a retail area and approximately 8,600 square feet of indoor meeting space.
The Marriott Miches Beach follows the debut of the Marriott Cancun, the first all-inclusive to open under the Marriott brand. (The resort had previously operated as a non-all-inclusive.)
Additional Marriott-flagged all-inclusives are slated to join the All-Inclusive by Marriott Bonvoy portfolio over the next two years, including the Marriott Puerto Vallarta and Marriott Djerba in Tunisia.
